A Breath of Fresh Air.

George and I both had the morning + afternoon off. Naturally, we wanted to spend the day outside, enjoying the sunshine, and doing something different. We went to an incredible art show in Englewood in the afternoon and enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine.

Our picnic spot.
The art instillation was brilliant! The artist collected all sorts of nicknacks from different countries all over the world. Books, stamps, figures, textiles, buttons, furniture etc. He created his art out of all of the various items- mixing mediums, cultures, ideas, religions. It was inspirational to see the world through his eyes.

Each pice was remarkable. After leaving the show, we strolled over to The Great Divide Brewery about 12 blocks from our home. It was an enjoyable walk- observing the city, the people, and taking in every moment of a pleasant day off. Taking a seat at the bar and imbibing in wonderful beer was the cherry on top of our sundae.

Divine Brew.
I just finished watching 180° South. An enlightening documentary that spurred my taste for adventure. Climbing, trekking, life on the move-- Inspirational. To put my goal into motion, I plan on acquiring my rock climbing certification in Colorado soon. It shouldn't be too different from the testing in Oklahoma I went through. But it will be the first step. I am lucky that I have a husband that understands and nourishes my longing for adventure. We both agreed to live in Denver for the time being to get our feet on the ground. What is to come next? Morocco? New Zealand? Croatia? Brazil? Chile? India? Why not. People that know us, know that we live for spontaneity and have a hunger to travel and experience all that this world has to offer. We don't want to be grounded by a mortgage, car payments etc. We want to live a life of simplicity. And how better than to seek nature and all its many offerings of splendor, life, and adventure with only a backpack. This is our idea of a beautiful life.

In Denver, this is only the beginning...

Saturday and Sunday: My favorite days of the week.

Well I'm here to update you on the rest of the weekend.

Saturday Lee and I took out the bikes to tour Denver.  We rode around for quite a while and me being me, I had to snap some photographs:

Is it unsafe to photograph and ride? Probably, but I definitely love the way they turn out.  After riding around and getting a little toasty we decided to bike over to Great Divide Brewery and get some free samples!

Mmm it's the 'Claymore Scotch Ale'

Sunday is our favorite day by far, we both have the day off work and it's always our day to go do something.  This week, Lee flew home, so we went to the park and lounged in the shade and had a little picnic.  Sometimes the best thing you can do is just simplify your life and we both needed it.

That's about our weekend, here's a project Kerri and I also worked on Sunday:

Sealing Off Another Great Week.

Each week, we have no idea what is in store for us. I like not making plans and neither does George. We roll with whatever knocks at our door and this weekend, it was beer. Our good friend from college, Lee,  came to visit us for a few days. Enjoying his enthusiasm and optimism of a beer filled weekend seemed like a brilliant idea for us. The evening he came into town, we went to a local tavern to enjoy delicious craft beer on tap and shake off any stresses of the week.
George and Lee enjoying 46oz of joy.

Friday we spent the day in Ft. Collins. The first thing on all of our lists was to go to the New Belgium brewery. It is considered in this region of America, as the Mecca of all breweries. everything about this place was wonderful-- the workers, the beer, the atmosphere, the whole vibe. We were all in complete euphoria after the first sip, then dozed into a state of sublime with each beer consumed.

The first one I tasted was their Oktoberfest brew- Hoptober. A bit hoppy for my taste, but it was still excellent. George went straight for the Trippel, then the Abby Ale, and a Mothership. I had Sahti next. Using ancient Japanese style brewing, it is full of juniper berries, orange, and leomon peel creating a festive olfactory of citrus and juniper notes! Delightful! The last one I tasted was called Imperial. It is known for it's chardonnay flavor-- most people that don't enjoy beer have this. The last brew we all had was a sour brown- La Folie. Sour browns are notorious in Belgium for their complexity and taste. La Folie is wood-aged, resting in French Oak barrels between one and three years before being bottled. It was hands down the best beer I have ever had in my life. It was ranked in amongst the top ten in the world

Leaving very happy and content, we stumbled over to Beau Jo's for authentic Coloradan pizza. Yes, I never knew Colorado had a style of pizza all their own.

It was delectable to say the least! Bellies full and ready for more, we strolled over to Odell Brewery. Another wonderful tasting.
After much brew and more than full bellies, we decided that to tackle another brewery would only mean naps in the ally and a nights stay in Ft. Collins. Thus, we headed home.

A wonderful day of beer and good company, a solid day.

Cheers!

And so it begins...

Well, we finally started a blog! George and I have been wanting to do this since before we got married back on 06.26. Life has started to settle down. Getting married, moving, and beginning a new life together has been incredible! A whirl wind, but worth every hair pulling stressful moment of boxes to the ceiling. We wanted to use this blog as our virtual journal of our life together: adventures, thoughts, pictures, and inspirations. As most people know, we are two people that love life and will live it to the fullest! We don't see road blocks; we see an adventure. We don't digest negativity; we see opportunity. We are two best friends in love and ready to make the world our playground.

Enjoy!
