A Breath of Fresh Air.

George and I both had the morning + afternoon off. Naturally, we wanted to spend the day outside, enjoying the sunshine, and doing something different. We went to an incredible art show in Englewood in the afternoon and enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine.

Our picnic spot.
The art instillation was brilliant! The artist collected all sorts of nicknacks from different countries all over the world. Books, stamps, figures, textiles, buttons, furniture etc. He created his art out of all of the various items- mixing mediums, cultures, ideas, religions. It was inspirational to see the world through his eyes.

Each pice was remarkable. After leaving the show, we strolled over to The Great Divide Brewery about 12 blocks from our home. It was an enjoyable walk- observing the city, the people, and taking in every moment of a pleasant day off. Taking a seat at the bar and imbibing in wonderful beer was the cherry on top of our sundae.

Divine Brew.
I just finished watching 180° South. An enlightening documentary that spurred my taste for adventure. Climbing, trekking, life on the move-- Inspirational. To put my goal into motion, I plan on acquiring my rock climbing certification in Colorado soon. It shouldn't be too different from the testing in Oklahoma I went through. But it will be the first step. I am lucky that I have a husband that understands and nourishes my longing for adventure. We both agreed to live in Denver for the time being to get our feet on the ground. What is to come next? Morocco? New Zealand? Croatia? Brazil? Chile? India? Why not. People that know us, know that we live for spontaneity and have a hunger to travel and experience all that this world has to offer. We don't want to be grounded by a mortgage, car payments etc. We want to live a life of simplicity. And how better than to seek nature and all its many offerings of splendor, life, and adventure with only a backpack. This is our idea of a beautiful life.

In Denver, this is only the beginning...

Saturday and Sunday: My favorite days of the week.

Well I'm here to update you on the rest of the weekend.

Saturday Lee and I took out the bikes to tour Denver.  We rode around for quite a while and me being me, I had to snap some photographs:

Is it unsafe to photograph and ride? Probably, but I definitely love the way they turn out.  After riding around and getting a little toasty we decided to bike over to Great Divide Brewery and get some free samples!

Mmm it's the 'Claymore Scotch Ale'

Sunday is our favorite day by far, we both have the day off work and it's always our day to go do something.  This week, Lee flew home, so we went to the park and lounged in the shade and had a little picnic.  Sometimes the best thing you can do is just simplify your life and we both needed it.
